We are looking for a motivated and ambitious finance professional with relevant skills and experience to lead our Accountancy team.

This is an excellent opportunity for CCAB qualified accountant, with great prospects for personal development and career progression as part of a multidisciplinary finance team.

You will manage and support the Accountancy team in the preparation of the annual revenue and capital budgets, monitoring of financial performance and completion of the final accounts. You will manage the planning, testing, training, implementation and review of computerised financial systems and ensure that the creditors function operates effectively.  In addition, you will ensure that the treasury management and banking functions operate in accordance with legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements. You will work alongside the management of designated service areas and ensure they receive quality financial advice and information.

You should be a CCAB qualified accountant with experience of local government finance and possess the ability to lead and motivate a team as well as manage workloads within tight timescales. You should have a high level of communication, numeracy and literacy skills.

Broxtowe District Council was formed on 1 April, 1974, following the amalgamation of the former Beeston and Stapleford Urban District council, part of the Basford Rural District Council and Eastwood Urban District Council.

In 1977 the Council was granted Borough status and the first Mayor was elected.
