Based in our recently refurbished Town Hall overlooking the beautiful beach at St Annes, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Senior Accountant (Operational) to join our progressive Finance Team.

Reporting to the Corporate Finance Manager this permanent post plays a key role in providing professional and accurate financial advice and guidance to budget holders, scheme managers and senior officers across the council, while ensuring proper financial reporting and governance. You will join a small, high-performing team of finance professionals which is continuously seeking to improve while supporting the delivery of the council’s priorities as set out in the Corporate Plan. The duties of the post are wide and varied and offer an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience across a breadth of disciplines in a dynamic environment.

The post-holder will ideally be fully or part-qualified with a CCAB accounting body and will need as a minimum to have successfully completed Level 4 Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). The grading of the post incorporates a bar at the top of grade H02 (SCP 32), with progression beyond that point being dependent upon attaining part-qualified CCAB status.

The post-holder will also have excellent analytical and communication skills and will to be able to work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines and to make a positive contribution to the overall work of the Council. This is a full-time, permanent position.
