Grade Allowance of £2,400 pa

Rushmoor Borough Council, like many local authorities, is facing fast-changing demands, with limited resources, and are constantly adapting to meet the needs of our community. The challenges are many and varied but we have the drive and determination to face these head on.

This has led us to commit to an ambitious Council Business Plan to support the economic and social regeneration of the Borough and to develop and modernise service delivery.  Working closely with project teams across the organisation, this new role will support the delivery of these ambitions through delivering professional, specialist and timely financial support to ensure these projects are delivered on time, on cost and deliver the anticipated benefits.

Working across a number of projects you will help  explore new avenues to generate income through regeneration, better use of assets and service transformation. , Central to this agenda is robust and astute financial management underpinned by commercial thinking, which supports development of business cases, rigorously evaluates proposals, and ensures projects are subject to robust financial analysis and reporting to ensure continued viability.

This is where you come in.  Reporting directly to the Executive Head of Finance, and your responsibility will be to lead on the financial management of these programmes, evaluating proposals and working with the project teams to deliver results on time, at pace and to budget.  This is a significant and important role, we are expecting a lot, but with your extensive technical accounting and IT skills you will already have a proven track record in supporting the delivery of multiple complex projects against high expectations.  Your exceptional organisational and people skills will allow you to quickly grasp the varied and busy workload and begin to quickly make a professional and valued input.

You will be a CCAB qualified accountant or have significant experience of working in a Project Accountant role in a complex organisation. But equally as important will be your ability to work with and through others, with first-class communication and collaboration skills, that support people to work at pace, change and adapt.  This is no ordinary accountant role; these are no ordinary times.
