About the role

Reporting to the oneSource Executive Director, and working at an executive level within the senior leadership team, this role provides strategic leadership and direction, to deliver an integrated finance function, across two aspiring London Boroughs.

Acting as the Finance Officer, the Director ensures the department operates to the highest professional standards, taking responsibility for the planning, development, and execution of the financial strategy. In light of recent events, it has never been as important to ensure our current practices and systems are fit for purpose. Embedding a positive approach to risk management, the Director delivers a clear focus on building personal, financial, and community resilience, with an emphasis on integration, transformation, and innovation.

Ultimately, this role is pivotal to the design and development of a comprehensive performance management framework. Motivated by the advancement of people and performance, the Director of Finance promotes a culture of continuous improvement, motivating the team to do what they do best.

Reviewing the impact of improvements you will also have experience of using qualitative and quantitative indicators to measure the performance of services, devising appropriate improvement strategies.

With the drive and ambition to ‘do things differently', you will also have a strong understanding of the challenges surrounding the financial landscape of a local authority, and be able to identify strategies to ensure we recruit, retain and develop the best talent for our Finance Academy Development Programme.

Ultimately, we are looking for you to embrace change, seize opportunities and disrupt what is normal, to deliver positive outcomes for our colleagues, customers and residents, positioning ourselves at the heart of public services.
