We already add a huge amount of value to the public sector globally but we want to do more. Which is why are recruiting for a Head of Policy and Technical to play a key role in developing and growing our offering.

The Head of Policy and Technical will be an important face of CIPFA. You will need to establish productive relationships with key decision makers and influencers across governments, regulators and the public sector to support in building a position where CIPFA is actively involved in and influencing the development of public finance management, ethics and governance in the UK and internationally.

The role will vary hugely, from leading the delivery of CIPFA’s technical work, speaking at conferences, providing advice to senior stakeholders, commenting to the media, to working to develop CIPFA services.

To be suitable for the role you need to be a qualified accountant, with an excellent understanding of technical accounting. You will need to be confident and credible in a range of public financial management topics, you will have a collaborative approach and the ability to develop relationships and influence across a wide range of stakeholders. Excellent leaderships skills and proven experience of modernising and being an agent of change are essential.

Going forward CIPFA will offer very flexible working arrangements, with the ability for the majority of your time being working from home. When you are in the office, you can be based at any of the four main offices in Birmingham, Chester, Edinburgh or London.
