About this role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative finance officer to help contribute to the Council’s Finance work. You will be key member of the Finance Specialist Team. As part of a small team you will be part of assisting with all tasks required to manage the finances of the Council and make a positive contribution to the delivery of our Medium-Term Financial Plan. This key role will give the right candidate the opportunity to get invaluable experience across a range of key areas within a local Council.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in local finances, flexible, resilient, with good communication skills and is able to work to their own initiative. You will need to be able to work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines and to make a real positive contribution to the overall work of the Resources Team.

A key part of the role will be Finance Business Partnering and being responsible for Collection Fund accounting.

To deliver this role you will be a full or part-qualified accountant and have a good in-depth     knowledge, understanding and experience of local government finance. You will fully understand the complexities of local government and the changing and challenging environment within which we work and be able to contribute positively to helping the Council successfully deliver its goals.
