Senior Finance Business Partner - Corporate Services

The finance team is at the heart of the council, they are currently going through a period of transformation and this newly created role will be leading and integrating the delivery of a range of financial services to add value, drive change and facilitate the ambitions of Southend-on-Sea.
Your new role.
As the Senior Finance Business Partner for Corporate Services & Financial Strategy Development, you will lead a small team of finance professionals delivering a comprehensive Financial Management and Business Partnering service to all corporate services (Chief Executive, Finance & Resources, Transformation and Legal & Democratic Services). Your role will include the lead and co-ordination of the Financial Sustainability Strategy, lead of the Councils Medium Term Financial Strategy, design and co-ordination of the financial monitoring and reporting arrangements, design and co-ordination of the final accounts closedown programme.
You will also be expected to drive, build and sustain trust and credibility with key stakeholders and all colleagues to ensure effective financial management is embedded, adds value, supports transformational change and facilitates the achievement of our Southend 2050 ambition.
Reporting into the Assistant Director of Financial Services (DS151) you will also be a key partner to the Executive Directors of the Council and Council Member portfolio holder.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be a qualified accountant (CCAB) Accountant, with experience in these areas of focus, and you must be professional and confident in discussions with all members of the Council and external parties.
