Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking to appoint a Head of Service Accountancy.

The post-holder will provide strategic advice to the Chief Officer Finance & ICT, Senior Leadership Team, the Council, Elected Members etc. and act as an expert strategic and corporate adviser in all matters relating to the following:

• financial management and statutory reporting
• budgetary Control
• business partnering
• treasury management, payments and charging processes
• tax advice and returns
• schools financial advisory service

As a member of the Finance & ICT Strategic Leadership Team (FICTSLT), the post-holder will plan, develop and build a co-ordinated, efficient and robust range of accountancy services across the department and the Council as a whole, and contribute to the strategic leadership of the department in line with the Council’s outcomes and objectives.

This post holds the official responsibility for Section 151 in the absence of the Chief Officer Finance & ICT.
