We are looking for an independent and result-oriented financial reporting accountant to sit with the Japan team with a focus on accounting, Japan specific treasury, assist with new business financial modeling and cash management. Ideally, you will have experience working in the finance function of a corporate or an accounting firm. Ideally you will take the initiative and the ownership of the problem as well as the ability to roll your sleeves up and get things done.

What you'll be doing

• Assist in management accounting, financial reporting and providing commercial and operational management information to support Japan Team
• Assist in overseeing of the day-to-day running of finance
• Assist in providing insights to Japan business's financial performance, risks and financial management
• Assist in process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting process
• Assist in the tax and regulatory reporting requirements of local entities
• Assist in building a scalable and efficient accounting and finance function
• Providing timely and effective support during the annual audit process and regulatory inquiries/inspections

What we need

• 1-2 years’ post qualified experience in finance functions, either with experience within a corporate or accounting firm
• Strong accounting knowledge, with J-GAAP or IFRS/FRS
• Excellent attention to details Positive attitude: 'can do' approach and willing to give everything a go from manual processing to larger projects
• Excellent organization skills: ability to plan and organize work so that it is efficient and effective
• Ability to comprehend and narrate financial records
• Good punctuality and time management skills

Excellent Microsoft Office skills Business level English Preferred

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (USCPA, ACCA, JICPA) or passed a part of the exam
• Experience in banking or IT related finance/accounting
• Strong accounting knowledge, with proven experience within J-GAAP or IFRS/FRS
• Strong experience of month end close, functional reporting and preparation of statutory account
• Knowledge of SQL language
• Knowledge of accounting system (Netsuite)
