Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Hay 6 (£32,910 - £35,745)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join Avon Fire & Rescue Service’s Finance Department, working within one of the four emergency services. This is a new role for Avon Fire & Rescue Service which has been created to support a Finance Improvement Programme which has been recently implemented, supporting a time of significant transformation across the organisation.

The Finance Business Partner will combine technical knowledge and a consultative approach in order to provide high quality business partnering and accurate, actionable financial analysis.  You will lead on the financial evaluation, modelling and appraisal of Business Cases, on development of accurate and appropriate financial monitoring, reporting and forecasting for a portfolio of devolved and centralised budgets across the service and on the development of annual budgets for a range of budgets across the corporate and operational areas of the organisation.

The successful candidate must hold a full CCAB accountancy qualification and have proven technical competency with considerable management accounting and budgeting experience (at least 3 years) within a large organisation.

You will have a proven ability to write and present high level financial information and reports to senior leaders, demonstrating the ability to explain complex financial issues in a confident and partnership manner.

Please note - as this post is based at our new Headquarters which we share with Avon & Somerset Police, the successful applicant will be required to undergo a security clearance check.
