As Head of Finance, you will build and own all finance and reporting processes at Demodesk and work closely with the CEO. You’ll operate in the middle of all the data flows in and around the business. You ensure the company sets up and reports accurate financial metrics, build a sound business plan, track business performance, manage cash and own business analytics across the company. We are looking for a strong finance professional who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty while building a data-driven organization and influence key strategic decisions.

Goals

  • Setup Business Plan and Financial Forecast: Create a strong and scalable foundation of financial planning and financial metrics that drives company performance.
  • Financial Reporting: Setup and operate a state of the art financial reporting structure and make them available for the whole company and investors.
  • Ensure a smooth accounting process: Review and revamp all finance functions within the company, taking full ownership of company finances, including the month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, payroll, tax, billing, A/R, A/P and cash. You’ll manage external accountants and payroll providers in multiple countries.
  • Support fundraising and investor reporting: Support all fundraising efforts, investor reports and co-create an ambitious fundraising strategy together with the CEO.
  • Set up the structure for a hybrid-remote team: New times bring new challenges. Not just because of COVID-19, but also due to our global customers we will have people working for Demodesk from all over the world. You enable the supporting structure in terms of legal entities, visa processes, payroll and tax operations for our global workforce.
  • Financial review and budgeting processes: Fully own, monitor, and operationalize the team's monthly review and quarterly budgeting processes, engaging directly with teams to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Own all legal topics: Work closely with our legal partners to set und review contracts and ensure that all legal business requirements are fulfilled.

Your Profile

  • 3+ years experience in building finance and reporting structures from the ground up, optimally in a fast-growing international SaaS startup from Seed/Series A to Series C.
  • Graduated top of your class with a Masters degree in business administration or finance from a top-tier university.
  • Profound understanding of all Financial disciplines, including Accounting, Reporting, Business & Scenario Planning, International Tax Law, Budgeting, Forecasting and Fundraising.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, build and manage a strong team.
  • Experience with German Accounting and Tax Law, basic German language skills are required.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and subscription billing, optimally experience with Stripe and Salesforce
  • Ability to respond to changing priorities in an evolving business environment and coordinate multiple projects.

Demodesk is building the world's first intelligent online meeting platform with the vision to enable anyone to have great customer conversations. Web conferencing tools that are being used today are purely functional. They hardly offer anything beyond video calling and local desktop sharing.

In a time where almost all companies build web-based software, it's still needlessly complicated to route screen sharing through local desktops. And even though AI and NLP are slowly upgrading call recording, vendors are still having a hard time making sense of sales conversations at scale and tracking meaningful data.

We have developed a new approach to screen sharing. Traditional tools only record a video of the presenter's local desktop screen.
