Job role and purpose. The Senior Financial Accountant will be directly responsible to the Head of Financial Accounting and will perform a key strategic role, working with other members of the Finance and Procurement team to deliver efficient and effective financial accounting to the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) and its stakeholder.

You will have a key role in the management of the SCTS annual report and accounts process including audit compliance.  You will be supporting to embed a new capital asset management framework into business as usual.  Providing assurance to senior leadership on balance sheet reporting and the provision of technical advice to the unit and wider business.

You will have line management responsibilities for 1 member of staff and will take a proactive role in supporting the effective performance of the Financial Accounting Team.

Candidate profile. You should have highly developed technical reporting and analytical skills; ability to produce annual report and accounts; ability to manage capital assets; ability to influence senior managers; excellent leadership skills including the ability to see the bigger picture. You should be CCAB/CIMA qualified or exceptional advanced part qualified (CCAB/CIMA) with strong demonstrable experience with evidence of continuing professional development.
