Based within the Budgeting and Financial Management Service, the senior role of Corporate Accounting Manager provides strategic financial advice to support effective financial decision making and risk assessment. The main tasks of the Corporate Accounting Manager are to coordinate and manage the council’s accounting processes and treasury function.

Management of the accounting processes includes; overseeing the production of the annual accounts, monitoring the council’s revenue and capital expenditure, reporting the results to councillors and senior officers, preparing the annual capital programme, working across the finance community and attending committees.

The Corporate Accounting Manager plays a key role in leading on the development and implementation of the council’s investment strategies and borrowing strategies. This includes management of the council’s cash flow and debt management portfolio.

In addition to having sound technical and managerial knowledge, you will be forwarding looking, experienced in working in a rapidly changing and very complex environment, and ready to help find new solutions.
