The Latymer School is a large, highly successful grammar school educating 1385 young people between the ages of 11 and 18. We have over 150 teaching and support staff and a budget of over £7.5 million. We are a dynamic, innovative organisation with a distinctive character and a history that goes back 400 years. young people, providing an education that positions them for successful and happy futures. We are now looking for an outstanding candidate to take on the pivotal role of Director of Finance and Operations.
Reporting to the Headteacher, as the Director of Finance and Operations you will give critical support to the Senior Leadership Team. You will play a key role in steering our financial strategy alongside managing the day to day operations and support services of the School. You will focus on operational efficiency to ensure that we provide high quality value for money services resulting in the best education possible for our young people.
Candidates should have a relevant professional qualification or degree with a track record of effective financial management, stewardship and reporting that is transferable. Previous experience of working in an education setting may be useful but not essential. More importantly, you will need exceptional interpersonal skills, a commercial acumen and the ability to learn and adapt quickly. This role is broader than just finance so experience of other relevant areas such as HR, estates, procurement, and Health and Safety would be an advantage.
It is possible that the role could accommodate an individual who might require some flexibility in hours of work, although this is not deemed to be a part time role, given its importance.
