London Borough of Barking & Dagenham is looking to recruit a Service Accountant to provide efficient and effective advice, information and guidance for specific group of schools as part of a traded service.

• You will support the preparation of relevant forecasts for capital and revenue estimates/budgets in consultation with the Headteacher, School Business Manager and Governors and to support the overall management of the DSG and the Council’s relationship with its maintained schools.

• You will provide support for schools year end financial returns including cash reconciliation, accruals, income and expenditure statement and balances, including submission of the schools capital returns, and submission of quarterly CFR returns to the LA and on COLLECT.

• It will be essential for the successful candidate to be a Part-Qualified CCAB or Qualified Accounting Technician or equivalent with experience working with schools OR have a knowledge of schools finance (Qualified by Experience) You will be expected to demonstrate and evidence current relevant experience.
