As a Credit Risk specialist you will be responsible for the management of the external collection agencies and the portfolio to ensure performance of the collection agency is on the highest level and in accordance to set expectations, in addition to that you will be managing the analytics and reconciliations necessary to perform the write off of bad debs.

The Credit Risk Specialist supportsthe Credit Risk Managerby being closely involved in projects to reduce the risk within Booking.com and to support strategic business initiatives. These will include the development, validation, and implementation of predictive statistical models for assessing credit risk. In this role, you are part of the globalOrder to Cash Team.

You will be the first point of contact to Global Credit Control team for queries related to Credit Risk processes andRisk management.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Support Booking.com BV in performing and improving existing credit risk processes effectively, to mitigate risk and reduce bad debt
  • Manage external collecting agencies to maximize recovery
  • Analyze collection agency performance and propose strategies to ensure we effectively manage risk and write off
  • Review and update accounts under the credit risk portfolio and maintain accounts receivable aging within agreed and accepted parameters
  • Perform review of internal and SOX audit controls
  • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in data sets to provide advice to Credit Control Operations when needed.
  • As a global team we support all Credit Control department in all incoming queries and Credit Risk trainings
  • Validate the statistical reports from internal and external sources
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with internal and external stakeholders on significant issues
  • Perform in accordance with business policy and procedures
  • Innovate and implement scalable solutions for our day to day operations

Required Skills:

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Visio.
  • Excellent oral communication, problem solving skills and a creative thinker with focus on process improvement.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills with ability to identify and communicate value-added observations
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and consistent follow-through
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as an effective team member
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with all levels of staff and external parties.
  • Able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines, comfortable working in a quick turnaround environment, while maintaining accuracy
  • At least 1 year of experience in one of the following areas– Credit Control – Credit Risk– Working with Collection agencies
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Exposures in Project Management
  • Familiar with Finance Systems and database management systems ( SAP, SQL, Hadoop)
  • Must have eligibility to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship available.
