An opportunity has arisen for an Accountancy Manager to lead the team in delivering a comprehensive professional accountancy service to fulfil the Council’s statutory, corporate and operational requirements. The role will develop financial strategies and provide advice to senior management and members on the implications of strategic proposals from other services. The postholder will be required to provide financial support, advice, training and challenge to the organisation, through regular budget monitoring and reporting, assessment of service proposals and other ad-hoc methods.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a qualified accountant with substantive knowledge of local government finance, including experience of Collection Fund forecasting and accounting. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to translate complex financial data into comprehensible formats for Members and senior managers. Experience is also needed in meetings deadlines, working with complex spreadsheets and effectively leading a team.
