CIPFA-Penna are delighted to be working with a local authority based in the North West recruit for an interim Head of Audit and Risk
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant, with Local Government experience who is a self-starter, and can work independently at a Senior Level. Responsibilities include;
- To act as the lead in the strategic management and development of the professional functions taking overall responsibility for the Health and Safety, Risk and Audit functions within the Council
- To lead the Audit function on a day to day basis, developing the strategic positioning of the Service so that it can be relied upon to provide efficient and effective systems and audit coverage for all areas of the Council actively contributing to the delivery of the Council’s Strategy.
- To ensure that the development and improvement of the Audit function is in accordance with the requirements of the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards
Our client needs someone who can quickly understand the task required and get things done with minimal guidance. The role will be based predominantly at home.
