Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a new challenge?

We are looking for a Director of Finance to join our team – you’ll be responsible for the financial management of the Islands’ new health and social care delivery organisation, Manx Care.

About the role and our team

From April 2021, “Manx Care” will take responsibility for delivering integrated health and social care services for the people of the Isle of Man.

This post will sit within the Treasury’s Financial Advisory Team, which provides a shared service across Government, offering high quality financial advice and support along with balanced, independent and professional challenge to Departments in respect of their financial decision making

You will be a key member of the Manx Care Board, promoting effective financial management, appropriate and targeted reporting and actively contributing towards the strategic direction and continuous improvement of the organisation. You will also provide professional financial advice and assistance to the Chair, Chief Executive Officer and senior colleagues across all activities of the organisation.

If you’ve got significant financial management experience, working at senior management level within a large and complex organisation, this could be the perfect next career move for you.

What can this role offer me?

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the provision of health and social care for the Island. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that the services delivered by Manx Care provide value for money and are financially sustainable.

You will work closely with the Executive team within Manx Care and use your excellent influencing and communication skills to help the organisation interpret internal and external environments to achieve financial and strategic targets.

As a member of the Financial Advisory Service you will have great peer support from colleagues across Government and be able to contribute to the development of the broader financial policy and strategic framework both for Treasury and the wider Isle of Man Government.

You will lead and motivate the finance team into a new way of working, changing culture and mindsets to support a business partnering model, with agile and engaged people.

If working flexibly is important to you, you’ll be happy to know we operate a flexi-time system making it easier to reclaim any additional hours worked and to fit your other commitments around your work life.

About the Island and relocating

The Isle of Man has been praised for its effective response to the global pandemic. Currently, due to the lack of cases in the community, people on the Island are enjoying a life free of social distancing regulations.

Here you can enjoy a fantastic quality of life, and an excellent work-life balance! There are plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities; so if you like walking, mountain biking, sailing or kayaking, you’ll have lots of places to explore!

There are also lots of great cafes, bars and restaurants, and you can enjoy the Islands’ real sense of community.  The island is well connected to the UK, and you’ll also benefit from low income tax rates (20% maximum rate).

If you are relocating or returning to the Island, you can also benefit from the Insurance Holiday Scheme, which allows you to apply for a refund on your NI contributions for your 1st year of living here. To see how this scheme could benefit you, and to find out more about relocating to the Isle of Man, visit www.locate.im

Interview expenses and a relocation package of up to £5,000 based on receipts is available for this role.
