“Your next move – Good for Haringey, Good for you.”

Haringey is a large London Borough with real ambition and a strong direction as set out in our borough plan and demonstrated by our goal of creating 1,000 new council homes. We are a hugely diverse and vibrant place where you can feel the energy and pride as soon as you set foot here.

Our finance service is an intrinsic part of how the Council operates and we are looking for a talented and aspiring individual to develop their career with us and be a key part of our collaborative culture.

As Head of Finance (People), you will be the Council’s lead for strategic financial planning and management across the People agenda, encompassing Adults, Children’s and Schools services. You will play a lead role in appraising projects financially, improving value for money and giving clear, strategic advice. Crucially, you will identify innovative means of financing large-scale services across the social care arena, and work with our services to navigate the authority’s recovery from the pandemic.

As a qualified accountant and with a strong track record of leading effective services in local government, you will provide strong leadership to your expert team of finance professionals. Your innovation and creativity internally will be important, although your influence will go way beyond Haringey as you also help to build our London profile.

Working closely with the DASS and DCS, as well as the Deputy S151 and S151 Officer, you will build on your existing experience of excellent financial management in people services to help take Haringey to the next level.

It is important to us that we attract a diverse group of talented, aspiring and politically astute individuals with the right experience. If you are ready for your next career move and you share our values of being “Human, Ambitious, Professional, Accountable”, then Haringey is the place for you.
