Job Details

We are looking for two talented Graduates or Accounting Technicians, with drive and ambition, who are seeking the opportunity to start their career in local government and wider public sector finance. The two roles available are based in the Finance and Pensions Teams and will provide the opportunity, through study and on the job learning, for each apprentice to become qualified as a Chartered Public Finance (CIPFA) Accountant. The role is career graded and the work undertaken and salary will be in line with the level of professional qualification achieved.

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate the professionalism, creativity and energy that will make a difference, as you build strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders across East Sussex and our Orbis partners, as we support you to deliver first rate services.

East Sussex is a great environment in which to work. Although based in Lewes, we recognise that COVID-19 has changed our perceptions of how the workplace will operate in the future. We offer a flexible approach to working which will be aligned to the needs of the apprenticeship to support your success.

Interested? For an informal discussion, please contact Rachel Jarvis at rachel.jarvis@eastsussex.gov.uk to arrange a time.

Closing date: 4 October 2020.

East Sussex County Council is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitable candidates, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. All applications are treated on merit.
