We are looking to recruit two exceptionally talented financial professionals to join our team in strategic finance. We have a new financial services structure in place that supports the Councils ambition to excel in everything it does and lead the way in providing the best services as part of our outcomes approach to service delivery and finance known as Future Ealing.

There are two key roles that will play a significant part in the finance team, both reporting the head of strategic finance:

  • finance manager - capital and projects
  • finance manager - planning and monitoring

In addition to being a fully qualified accountant, with strong technical skills ideally developed from your experience in a corporate finance environment, you will have the essential strategic and political awareness that this role requires, allowing you to work collaboratively with the chief finance officer, directors and executive directors. Your ambition will be to take the next step in your career and these roles provide an ideal platform for attaining the highest career success in finance.

As the finance manager for capital and projects, you will be Council’s expert on capital accounting and capital projects, responsible for the setting, monitoring and financing of the Council Capital Programme as an end to end process with responsibility for supporting the Councils most ambitious and complex schemes.

As the finance manager for planning and monitoring, you will help drive the delivery of the MTFS and drive the Council’s budget monitoring and setting process. You would also be responsible for managing the collection fund account from a budgeting perspective.

You will be a confident and capable people manager who exemplifies effective relationship management and is committed to team development, shaped by quality service delivery and customer outcomes.

In return, we offer a range of employee benefits, including flexible working (up to two days per week from home after probation period), pension and as importantly a real opportunity to both make a difference and progress your career.

Ealing Council offices are based close to the transport links of Ealing Broadway and the lively amenities of Ealing town centre and when the Elizabeth Line opens it will take only 14 minutes to get to from central London.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Shabana Kausar, head of strategic finance on 020 8825 7549 or KausarS@ealing.gov.uk

This post is subject to Ealing's enhanced vetting process.

We anticipate that the interviews will be held in January 2020.
