Director of Financial Management and Performance

c. £75-£95k + benefits

Westminster, London

We are looking for a qualified finance professional (CCAB or equivalent) to work closely with our newly appointed Managing Director of Finance, Portfolio & Performance to shape and deliver a best-in-class finance service.

The House of Commons Service supports the House and its MPs in performing their parliamentary duties. Our 2,800 staff are a remarkable group of people with an amazingly rich and varied range of skills and experience – ours is a truly ‘live’ environment, employing chefs and clockmakers, barristers and baristas, engineers and librarians.

The Finance, Portfolio and Performance (FPP) team is critical to supporting a thriving Parliamentary democracy. We play a leading role in delivering the House of Commons’ Strategy through business and financial planning, monitoring performance, supporting the delivery of projects and programmes across Parliament, and promoting innovation and improvement.

You will lead and develop the finance, business planning & performance functions, including motivating a diverse team of around 40 staff. As a member of the FPP Management Board, you will provide visible leadership across the team, help to deliver the team business plan and champion a culture of collaboration and improving financial capability and understanding across the House and Parliamentary Digital Service, including through providing a professional lead to finance business partners.

An inspiring leader, with a track record of success in a senior finance leadership role in a complex organisation, you will drive a culture of customer focus and high performance, where a valued workforce is supported and developed to deliver exceptional service. Outstanding communication skills, powerful credentials in building trusting relationships with senior stakeholders (up to Board level) and influence them with professional credibility and personal impact are essential.

More information on the role and the full criteria can be found on the job description.

Closing date for applications which should be submitted via a House of Commons application form on our website is 28 November 2019 at 23.55pm.
