Work location: County Hall with the ability to work in an agile way across the county

Hours per week: Up to 37 per week

We have three fantastic Management Accountants opportunities available within our Business Partnering teams at Oxfordshire County Council.

Management Accountants

Two permanent posts

Grade 13 - £41,675 - £44,632 pro-rata, per annum

Interim Management Accountant

One temporary post for up to 6 months

Grade – Interim day rate

 

About you

In your role as Management Accountant, you’ll need to be proactive, organised and have experience of making effective decisions. As you’ll be working with people of all levels, sound persuasion and negotiating skills in order to motivate people and partnerships and influence outcomes is critical to the success of the Directorate/Corporate priorities.

Some of the key skills you will possess are:

  • Experience in supporting complex service delivery.
  • Qualified accountant.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of financial management, business planning, corporate governance, and risk management, processes and procedures, and sound knowledge of the wider sector / external influences.
  • Excellent communication skills, confidence and the ability to negotiate.

 

About the role

The Business Partnering teams support the business by providing strategic financial insight, analysis and commercial thinking to the nominated Directorate including the validation of the Service & Resource Planning, Financial Monitoring and Final Accounts processes.

The Finance team is fundamental to the business, provide on-going support, advice and challenge to cost centre, project and service managers of agreed high risk budget areas.

As the Management Accountant, you will deputise for Assistant Finance Business Partner as

appropriate and provide support on major projects and contracts.
