Following a period of change, we are looking to recruit a number of Assistant Finance Business Partners. In this role you will delivery a solution-focussed, innovative financial management function, that enables the effective allocation of resources to outcomes and further ensures value for money. 

You'll be a proactive member of a customer-focussed finance team that supports the achievement of the Council and its partners long term vision. We are looking for a teamplayer who is able to take direction from a Finance Business Partner, whilst being able to act independently when required. You will have a formal accountancy qualification or equivalent professional knowledge gained through significant experience working as a finance specialist. Above all you will have good interpersonal skills to develop sustainable and successful partnership working. Applications are welcome from people with experience from a range of backgrounds, not just local government. Demonstrable experience in some of the following areas are required:

• Statutory accounts production
• Capital finance programmes and major projects
• Management accounts
• VAT
• Providing technical financial advice
• Finance system maintenance
• Supporting financial decision-making
• Budget setting/control mechanisms
