An opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking individual to lead our award winning team of internal auditors at Leeds City Council. As the Head of Internal Audit your leadership capacity and expertise in the Internal Audit profession will influence and drive continuous improvement across the organisation through working proactively with key stakeholders. You will be accountable for the effective management, strategic direction, development and promotion of Internal Audit services in accordance with all relevant professional standards and legislative requirements.
You must hold a relevant professional qualification (CMIIA, CCAB or equivalent) and be suitably experienced. You will need to demonstrate that you have excellent interpersonal, management and leadership skills and a track record in adding real value. A thorough understanding of local government, local government finance and the issues facing local authorities is critical, as is the ability to apply the technical competencies relevant to the role.
