We are looking for a motivated and ambitious finance professional with relevant qualifications, skills and experience to work in our Accountancy team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part or newly qualified accountant, with great prospects for personal development and career progression as part of a multidisciplinary finance team.

You will lead a small team contributing to the whole accounting cycle from budget preparation and monitoring to final accounts. You will work alongside the management of designated service areas and ensure they receive quality financial advice and information.  In addition to Revenue Budgets you will have significant involvement in the preparation of the Capital Programme and associated capital accounting requirements.   As part of managing the Team you will also help oversee the day to day Treasury Management function and ensure completion of financial returns.

You will be self-motivated and use your initiative to propose and implement efficient and effective ways of working where necessary and to resolve complex finance issues.  You will lead by example and provide support and motivation to other members of the Team.

The ideal candidate should be a qualified or part-qualified CCAB accountant. Applications are also welcomed from qualified AAT accountants with exceptional skills and experience at a similar level.

Broxtowe District Council was formed on 1 April, 1974, following the amalgamation of the former Beeston and Stapleford Urban District council, part of the Basford Rural District Council and Eastwood Urban District Council.

In 1977 the Council was granted Borough status and the first Mayor was elected.
