Head of Corporate Finance
The Head of Corporate Finance will be key to driving through Council wide transformation and continuing to build resilience and financial stability, overseeing all aspects of corporate financial management. The role will provide advice to the Council both from a corporate perspective and by working with the Senior Managers, Corporate Management Team and Members of the Council. Other key responsibilities will include: -
- Driving improvement and leading the enhancement of processes enabling the delivery of the Council’s priorities.
- Promoting and developing a culture that supports a Self Service approach to service delivery.
- Overseeing the coordination and the production of the Council’s Statement of Accounts, acting as a key contact for the external auditor.
- Providing leadership and guidance on the medium term financial plan, ensuring the robust delivery of all necessary financial modelling.
To be suitable for the role you need to be an ambitious and focused CCAB (or CIMA) qualified candidate with proven experience of driving through transformation and change. Exposure to financial management and medium term financial planning processes within a large and complex organisation, and the ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders is also essential.
