Head of Finance

Local Government Organisation near Bristol is looking for a Head of Finance on an Interim Basis whilst a permanent restructure is completed.

You will manage a small department and your key responsibilities will be:

• Manage the department overseeing the day to day business as usual activities in the monthly reporting schedule as well as any ad hoc projects
• Support the Section 151 OFFICER to ensure that the wider organisation is delivering all of the financial key objectives and meeting their capital and revenue budgets
• Treasury and Capital management
• Ensure the department is gearing up to the year end process and has the relevant tools to ensure a smooth delivery
• Take ownership of wider finance initiatives eg housing benefit, business deals and associated rates, council tax evaluation and any other matters that need financial ownership and guidance

Candidates need to be qualified and have had prior experience of working in the sector. Communication, analytical and commercial awareness skills are also essential as well as the ability to work with many different people across a large organisation
