Following a team restructure, Wirral Council is recruiting a Senior Finance Business Partner to contribute to a solution-focussed, innovative, financial management function that enables the effective allocation of resources to outcomes, in order to ensure value for money for the public purse.
The post-holder will ensure the provision of professional and evidence-based management information to support the long-term sustainability of the Council and its trusted partners.
You'll ensure a commercial ethos is embedded across the council so that any decision taken is done so following an assessment of commercial viability and opportunity.
You'll be required to manage a proactive, customer-focussed team of accountants that supports the achievement of the Council and its partners' long-term vision.
We are seeking an experienced, qualified accountant, who can work with a range of stakeholders in order to bring about positive changes to current operations.
You'll need excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to develop sustainable and beneficial relationships, along with demonstrable leadership qualities of high performing teams delivering to business plan targets.
You'll possess programme and project management skills, to ensure benefits realisation can be captured, delivered and measured.
You'll be managing a team consisting of qualified and part qualified accountants, requiring strong leadership from you with experience of staff management being a key requisite.
Financial modelling and analysis experience is required, including risk management techniques.
