Project Accountant - Local Government
Allen Lane are currently working with a local authority to recruit an interim Project Accountant to improve financial processes and systems to realise potential savings. The successful candidate will have experience working in local government or a similar setting and have advanced Excel skills, able to manipulate and streamline large datasets.
The Project Accountant will be required to deliver two key objectives:
- The implementation of a council wide corporate approach for devolved budget management
- Develop processes within the council’s finance system to ensure the system is fully functional and supports the requirements of the council
The role requires a collaborative approach to working with finance colleagues to deliver best practice and implement procedural change to financial and management accounting processes. As such, you will be a motivated self-starter with a successful record in a change environment. Experience of producing and publishing clear and succinct guidance to financial and non-financial managers is a must.
