Interim Deputy Section 151 Officer
CIPFA-Penna are supporting a dynamic unitary council who are in search of an Interim Deputy Section 151 Officer. This North-West based authority has undergone significant change in recent years and are currently engaged in several transformation and improvement projects, resulting in increases workflow and a subsequent demand for extra resource.
Working closely with the organisation’s current Chief Finance Officer, the successful candidate will support on improving financial resilience and governance across the council, lead a diverse finance team and support the CFO on an impending restructure across finance.
Starting straight away, there will also be immediate support required on giving the council better insight of its performance, planning and carrying out actions plans to address any issues identified, support on the range of important projects across the council and lead the budget-setting process for 2020.
To be considered, you’ll ideally be available to start immediately and have had recent experience at a senior leadership level within a local authority / local government organisation. A fully qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, ACA or CIMA), you’ll have demonstrable leadership qualities coupled with sound technical knowledge of local government finance.
