We have a superb opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our Services Team and enhance technical standards in an innovative Council in one of the fastest growing cities in the country.

You will be responsible for managing the Service Accounting team and you will play a key role in the supervision, training and development of the accountants and accountancy assistants.

With the ability to influence others to achieve service outcomes you will assist in the preparation of the multi-year financial plan and annual budgets (capital and revenue) in liaison with service managers, to ensure delivery of the council’s objectives.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of working in a finance role in a complex organisation and will take a lead in guiding, advising and supporting members, directors, heads of service and other service managers through the financial aspects of the service planning process, preparing annual revenue budgets and the capital programme.

As someone who is able to analyse and assess complex data and make recommendations for use of resource, you will be able to ensure consistency with corporate financial processes at all times.

You will be a fully qualified CCAB accountant or hold an equivalent qualification and will be someone who is able to creatively resolve problems and can inspire trust, confidence, respect and credibility from a range of people.
