Chief Finance Officer – VSM

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the largest integrated Community and Mental Health provider in the country.  CNWL FT has grown to a turnover of over £530m and operates across three planning units and in over 100 sites.

The post holder will have the opportunity to help lead and shape the way services are provided in the future, whilst enabling the continued financial sustainability of the trust.  Working in a collaborative environment the CFO will help deliver new models of care through existing and new organisations, in appropriate settings whether for physical or mental health, whilst keeping the focus on finance and quality. CNWL works in partnerships across many health and social care communities and is now - and will remain - a significant player.

As well as managing a large Finance function the post holder will be responsible for key areas such as, Estates, Procurement, Commercial Development, Contracting, Information and Performance.  In addition the individual will be engaged in developing key stakeholder relationships at Board level.

CNWL has a wholly owned subsidiary and the CFO will be working closely with the company to deliver the annual set of consolidated group accounts.   The Trust also has a Charity and Research set of functions which have great potential and will require the CFO to apply commercial expertise.

The successful candidate must be an intelligent, credible, professionally qualified accountant with exemplary leadership skills, high standards and strong attention to detail. You must be a naturally strategic thinker, and a robust, clear communicator to enable you to build effective relationships and influence challenging individuals at all levels, both within and outside of the organisation. The successful candidate will likely come from a comparably sized organisation within the NHS or wider public sector.

Based in central London the post holder will have opportunities to become involved in forming and influencing the national debate.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community and would particularly encourage applications from women, black, Asian, and minority ethnic communities and disabled candidates as people with these characteristics are underrepresented on our Board.

Please contact our recruitment partner Adrian Watts from Allen Lane on 0207 101 8807 for an informal discussion.  Please send your CV and supporting statement to cnwl@allenlane.co.uk along with your current remuneration.

Closing date for applications will be Monday 2nd September and panel interviews will be on Tuesday 17th September.
