Our support services play a key role in helping the whole Council work to the best of its ability and ensure the Council can deliver on its priorities. Within that the Financial Management function has undergone some major changes, including; moving to a centralised finance function and implementing a new finance system. The priorities over the next two years are addressing the financial challenges facing the Council and embedding a culture of business partnering and adding value. 

There are currently three Financial System Officer opportunities available.  The purposes of the roles are to work within a defined financial control framework to ensure controls are in place and adhered to. Duties include:

  • Processing of income transactions for the organisation
  • Providing excellent support for financial system modules including Income Management Purchase Orders. Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Contributing to the Financial System Team continuous improvement plan
  • Working as part of a team to achieve customer service excellence
  • Overseeing Financial Regulations are being adhered to consistently across the council

The ideal candidate for this role will be educated to GCSE level standard or technical level and have knowledge of how Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes work. Knowledge of specialist information systems such as Agresso would also be beneficial.
