We are looking for an experienced, qualified accountant to partner our Regeneration and Economic Growth Directorate. Working as part of the corporate finance team, you will have a key role in how the Council manages its resources to make a real impact for the citizens of Wakefield.

  As well as the usual responsibilities around budget setting, budget monitoring, etc. you will be part of the team working to deliver our flag-ship public and private sector regeneration and capital projects.

You might be what we are looking for if you can demonstrate experience of operating at a strategic level within a large, complex organisation. Can you show experience of successfully working at a senior financial management level making a significant difference? You will be able to evidence working within financial management and will have experience of participating in the formulation and development of innovative financial strategies, objectives and policies within a large multi-functional organisation. Preferably someone with experience of working in a political environment you will be able to demonstrate that you have helped your organisation to evolve.

The role is part of a team as well as a manager and so we want someone who can be a team player and someone who can lead and manage.
