The Council is looking to recruit a professionally qualified and technically skilled accountant to work within its Finance Team. The role will work alongside the Chief Accountants to provide a wide variety of accountancy tasks including leading on the preparation of the final accounts, advising and assisting with capital accounting matters as well as providing robust technical support.

Other duties that the successful candidate will be required to undertake include managing the budgeting processes, preparing collection fund accounts and monitoring the Council’s cash flow position.

Your excellent technical ability is a given, and you will enjoy ensuring that you are up to date with latest best practice and guidance.  You will have be a team player, who can quickly build strong relationships with the team and officers, and will thrive on working collaboratively to achieve outcomes for the Council. A flexible approach and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities is essential, as is the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
