The council continues to face considerable financial challenges and the Accountancy section has recently restructured to provide a resilient finance function, underpinning our Stronger Together priorities. The Business Partnering and Financial Support team requires an enthusiastic and dedicated accountant to support this objective.

The role requires a qualified accountant with knowledge of local government finance. You will have the opportunity to develop the role, contributing to the overall strategy of the council including; the provision of advice to senior officers and budget managers; ensuring budgets are accurate and correctly reported; funding is clear and the systems and processes that underpin that support are adequate and appropriate. Direct engagement with officers and positive influence is fundamental to the successful delivery of the role.
