Assistant Director of Finance

To continue on their ambitious journey, to be industry leaders in the sector, they have recently insourced the finance service and are now recruiting an Assistant Director of Finance to lead on developing Business Partnering across the Services. The role will be reporting to the Director of Finance and will be part of the Finance Leadership Team working with the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, Members and senior officers to develop the vision, values and strategies for the Council and to be responsible for the delivery of them through sound financial management.

The Assistant Director of Finance will work with a range of stakeholders to identify and address issues impacting on Council Services, residents and service users. It will also develop and lead a team to provide a value add, business partnering offering to support decision making across the Services.

The role will also pay a key role in the on-going development and co-ordination of the corporate financial framework, including the medium term financial strategy, to enable the Council to prioritise and utilise its financial resources to the greatest effect.

To be suitable for the role you need to be an inspirational fully qualified finance leader, with a proven experience of supporting strategic decision making and driving through change. Experience of leading teams within complex public sector organisations and a strong customer focus is essential.
