West Lindsey District Council is changing and innovating. Driven by a commercial approach to tackling the challenges raised through austerity, and with a Financial Strategy to become financially self-sufficient whilst enabling and supporting continued investment in the District.

We will achieve this through;

-      Generating income from council services through charging, trading and investment - Securing external funding and working in partnership to support investment in our communities

-     Increase capital and revenue returns for the council through investment in housing and economic growth

- Enhancing the council’s commercial culture and capability

We are now looking to appoint a proactive, analytical and technically capable person to fulfil a part time Principal Corporate Accountant post to help deliver these priorities.

The position provides an excellent opportunity for a part qualified Accountant to develop their skills in Corporate Technical Accounting.

The post holder will primarily specialise in Treasury Management function, taking responsibility for compliance reporting and forward planning. In addition to this the successful candidate will support working on year-end accounts, corporate capital accounting and budget setting, collection fund accounting, business cases/projects and mentoring junior members of staff.

It is a highly technical role that will give you bespoke skills, exposure and responsibility to enable progression within the Council and in your finance career.

We recognise the specific nature of the skill sets required for this role and we will support the right candidate in their learning and development to fulfil the full function of the position.

The successful candidate will be motivated by change, willing to learn and challenge, confident in their current financial skills, self-starting with the ability to make complex information clear and understandable. You will thrive on variety and adding value.

The role will report directly to the Corporate Finance Team Leader but will be expected to make a significant contribution to delivering the Council’s financial processes across the whole Finance Team.
