A vacancy has arisen to support the Finance Lead (Children’s) and Senior Management Accountant in managing the Council’s financial position through the setting of the Children Education and Families Budget and schools budgets and supporting schools in the management of those budgets throughout the year. 

The role will include the relevant reporting of the financial position throughout the year to Headteachers, Governors, other outside institutions, Officers and Members and identifying options for improving the financial position.

It is expected that the successful application will be able to demonstrate reasonable knowledge of local government finance, schools funding and   professional accounting requirements. It would be helpful if the applicant had knowledge of school based accounting systems. 

The post is a permanent position of 22.5 hours per week.
