Director of Finance & Deputy Chief Executive

Nestled between the Mountains and Sea, you will have easy access to Ski resorts in the Winter and water sports, hiking, cycling and much more in the summer.

We are seeking a talented and inspirational Director of Finance to join a highly motivated Executive team, leading on large scale change and innovation.

NHS Highland covers 40% of the land mass of Scotland, has a budget of c£800m and employs over 10,000 staff.  They have created the Highland Quality Approach to improve quality and safety and drive out harm, waste and unnecessary variation.  They work with the staff and communities to develop new models of care, to ensure services are high quality and sustainable for the future.

NHS Highland is a fully integrated health and care system, with the ground breaking Highland Health and Social Care Partnership, created in 2012.

We are now looking to recruit a Board level leader, reporting to the Chief Executive, to provide strategic direction for the Board and the organisation, to lead transformational change and achieve our challenging financial targets. 

We are involved in exciting and innovative work with the Institute of Health Improvement on Value Management and require all our senior leaders to be Certified Lean Leaders and actively contribute to large programmes of improvement work.

You must be a CCAB Qualified Accountant and be able to demonstrate a successful track record of working at a senior level in a highly complex health or social care systems and be passionate about delivering person centred care.
