Business Partners - Local Government
Allen Lane are working with several local authorities to recruit a number of Business Partners to provide interim support to their finance departments. These Accountants will work closely with senior managers and budget holders in supporting the budget monitoring and budget setting process.
Having previous experience in a similar position, ideally within a local authority, will be key as the successful candidate will be involved in supporting a variety of service areas, which could include Environment, Corporate Services, Childrens or Adult Social Care.
As such, key objectives include;
- Delivering accurate, relevant and timely financial performance and management information
- Working with senior finance analysts to support service managers to fulfil their budget management responsibilities, undertaking trend analysis to inform budget monitoring
- Keeping under review appropriate format of budget monitoring reports to ensure that they meet the business need.
- Promoting compliance with financial processes and appropriate use of systems
This would suit either a part-qualified or qualified Accountant with a proactive nature, not afraid to get involved across different areas. Excellent communication skills will be vital and evidence of successfully training and engaging non-finance managers in budget monitoring and finance systems will be tested through the application process.
