The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

Bradford City Council’s focus is on growing the local economy and reforming services to achieve better outcomes for our communities. We have succeeded in delivering major regeneration schemes in the city centre, delivered new houses for our communities, and we have exciting plans in place to deliver world-class leisure facilities.

However, like many other local authorities, we are facing big financial challenges at the moment. In the context of continuing austerity, it is essential we make the best use of the resources at our disposal to maximise performance, efficiency and customer satisfaction as far as possible. We currently have a Business Adviser vacancy that plays a key role in achieving these aims.

The Business Adviser will play a vital role in supporting managers in the Place Directorate to improve the financial performance of services and develop / implement revenue and capital projects, and will work with managers to improve their financial skills and acumen. To be successful in this role you will need a demonstrable track record of applying your financial skills and expertise to resolving complex business issues and improving financial performance, and have a proven track record of building trust and working collaboratively with non-finance professionals.
