We're looking for a high calibre Finance Manager to play an essential role in making Portsmouth City Council's vision a reality.

Children's Services operates in both a challenging and exciting environment. Alongside increasing demand and constrained financial resources is the satisfaction of making a real difference to the life chances of the children of our city. Delivering the Directorates Financial Sustainability Strategy within the context of a growing population, requiring more school places and increasing demand to provide for our most vulnerable children will be one of your primary goals.

As Finance Manager, you'll work within the Corporate Finance Management Team and will report to the Chief Financial Officer for the council. You'll be instrumental in working with the Director for Children, Families and Education, Councillors and external partners e.g. schools, to build a sustainable model for delivering children's and education services.

The successful candidate will be CCAB qualified with significant post qualified experience, and have the ability to communicate and work effectively with partners. You will also have experience of budgetary control and financial management in a large and complex organisation, as well as experience of managing and motivating teams.
