Senior Finance Business Partner
In April 2017 the London Borough of Sutton and the Royal Borough of Kingston launched an exciting new Shared Finance Service. About the role
We’re looking for Senior Finance Business Partners to join our Finance Engagement and Advice section of the Shared Finance Service. You will be responsible for working in partnership with service areas, providing constructive challenge and recommendations to senior leaders in Kingston and Sutton Councils. You will ensure high quality of financial management, delivering useful insights and translating business intelligence into business success.
A key focus of the role will be providing strategic financial support, challenge and advice to Governance Boards and transformational project boards and act as Lead Finance Officer on a number of project teams as required. You will ensure that the change initiatives are provided with financial modelling support, highlighting the financial impact to the wider organisation.
You will support the core financial processes and activities, including financial planning and budgeting, financial management and monitoring activities, and financial year end processes. You will also motivate and provide day-to-day support to the Finance Lead - Business Partners, including feedback on performance and coaching to develop skills and knowledge, working closely with the Team Leader under a matrix management arrangement.
You will be likely to be a qualified accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, MBA etc) or have demonstrable equivalent experience of operating at that level. Experience of working within a business partnering model and/or the ability to demonstrate an awareness of what is required to deliver the outcomes of the model is essential.
