Following a recent review and restructure of the Finance Department we have created 3 new management posts within the team which presents an exciting opportunity for ambitious, highly-motivated, team players, to shape and influence the strategic and corporate development of both the Finance Team and the wider Council, and to contribute to their future management and leadership.

All 3 posts will provide financial support, advice and information to colleagues both within the Finance Team, and to management and staff across the Council, ensuring maximum use is made of the resources we have available, and assisting as we strive to continuously improve our systems and processes to ensure we drive quality and value for money in all we do.

We are looking to recruit a Systems and Project Accountant who will lead our Systems and Projects Team to oversee the smooth running, maintenance, control and development of our Civica Financials system, along with other systems in use across the Finance Team. The successful candidate will play a lead role on financial based projects and provide specialist financial advice and support on operational projects over a wide range of services and initiatives delivered across the Council.

We are looking to recruit a Finance Manager – Financial and Corporate Accounts to lead the Financial and Corporate Accounts Team, with responsibility for financial and capital accounting, treasury management and financial advisory services, including year-end closure and preparation of the statutory accounts for the Council.

We are looking to recruit a Finance Manager – Management Accounts and Portfolio Lead to lead and manage one of the Management Accounting teams within the overall Finance Team, with responsibility for delivering management accounts, preparation of annual budgets, business cases and savings programmes, and providing financial advice to several designated service delivery areas (portfolios) across the Council.

These are exciting and challenging roles which will provide exceptional opportunities for the right candidates to apply their initiative, to lead service and system improvements and to work closely with Senior Management and Executive Members to make a real difference to the future delivery of Council services.

You must be CCAB qualified accountant with practical and managerial experience in one of the areas listed. Local authority experience is not essential and we would like to encourage applicants from across the public and private sector, and from accountancy practice; we are looking for the right candidates who possess sound accounting, finance and system skills, strong leadership abilities and change management skills. Training will be provided for the right applicant as required.
