Job Details

A leading local authority in the Midlands are seeking to appoint an Interim Finance Business Partner, specifically to review the budgeting, accounting, financing and reporting of the council’s portfolio of Private Finance Initiative (PFI) and Public Private Partnership (PPP) contracts – ensuring value for money is sought and that the long-term financial planning for these contracts is managed efficiently.

Additionally, the post-holder will provide value-adding insight, support and advice to activities and transformation projects throughout the council, involving staff across all levels and departments, to help drive the council towards continuous financial and operational improvement.

The ideal will candidate will be a fully-qualified accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with a wealth of experience and a credible track record in PFI/PPP projects – gained in a local authority environment. You’ll demonstrate astute business-partnering skills, demonstrate your ability to provide first-rate support/advice to complex projects and have examples of proficiently operating/negotiating commercial service contracts to deliver value for money and strong financial management.
