Two Councils One Team
Over the past couple of years Eastbourne Borough and Lewes District have come together creating a progressive partnership: two sovereign councils each with a unique identity and a shared vision of the future. Through joining our workforce and fostering a modern, collaborative culture, we are serving our residents in a more customer focussed and cost-effective way.
This process of joint transformation has seen the two councils move to a single shared officer team, helping to protect services in a time of reducing budgets, realising savings, and ensuring a modern, high quality and resilient professional team. At the same time the strategic profile of both organisations within the region is set to grow.
As part of this programme, we are recruiting two exciting new senior opportunities in Finance for CCAB qualified accountants to continue our momentum and shape a new joint service. These posts will provide strategic leadership to the newly formed Financial Planning and Financial Accounting teams.
The post of Finance Manager (Financial Planning) is a key role in developing a new, innovative, customer-focused, and commercial, business partnering function.
Leading the Financial Planning team, you will contribute to our corporate strategic planning processes and our longer term financial plans. In particular, both councils are pursuing a range of commercial activities through trading companies, requiring both commercial acumen and public sector awareness.
Overall, you will bring a track record of success in a public sector finance role; strong all round communication and management skills; a commercial approach; credibility; and an openness to innovative ways of delivering services and generating income.
Closing date: 9.00am on Monday 18th March 2019
Interviews: Week commencing 25th March 2019
