Finance Business Partner – Corporate Services     

Salary:Grade 10 – 43,757 - £45,646 plus Market Forces supplement   £1,075 for an exceptional candidate (pro rata for hours worked)

This excellent opportunity to join a progressive Borough Council who are building houses, regenerating our town and making life changing progress for our residents. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting this from a financial perspective.

We are looking for an ambitious CCAB qualified professional to join our Finance Business Partner Team. The main responsibilities of the post holder will be to:

provide professional and expert accounting and technical service for the revenue, holding and control accounts for Corporate Services; contribute to budget setting and the production of the annual budget book; provide budget monitoring information to Managers; produce financial information for reports written by officers of the council; provide monitoring information for shared services; provide monthly Key Performance Information to the Senior Leadership Team; contributes to the closure of the accounts by the statutory deadline; line management responsibility for an Assistant Finance Business Partner.

Successful candidates will:

  • be CCAB qualified accountant
  • have local government experience
  • have a good understanding of Corporate Services – IT, HR, Policy, Finance etc
  • need advanced computer skills, the ability to question and analyse data and to present it in a coherent and user friendly format.
  • a flexible and motivated attitude and the ability to work unsupervised when necessary, have a working understanding of finance packages
